Giovanni Cavagna - Italian Haute Couture dazzles at LFW

Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Couture and Giovanni Cavagna have been soul mates since he was a young man and hence the Autumn/Winter 2007-08 Giovanni's collection was a marvel in knit, over which he showed his expertise as he manipulated the yarns into unbelievable moulds and drapes at the Lakme Fashion Week today.

Inspired by India, his sari like gown was a tricky piece of garment designing. From there the show ventured into uncharted stylish regions, as a net shredded draped tunic with rouched pants, a calf length high slit pleated knit dress, a structured pleated geometric cover over a tube stop and a skirt with a cluster of wired fabrics attached to a skirt over a slim dress added glamour to the show.

From his all black section, Giovanni also experimented with flame red in the form of a draped knit sweater-mini-dress, a ribbed cowl neck short cardigan and a bubbled wool applique long skirt and gilet.

A little glitter in gold came in the form of a sequined cocoon dress, a gold maxi, aknitted asymmetrical dress and a criss cross draped dolman sleeve dress.
