Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Gayatri Khanna today showcased her line at the Lakme Fashion Week using art deco as a theme and ventured the past for her fashion forward look.

Gayatri drew deeply from the 20s and 30s, weaving a fashion story that was filled with the rich tones of wine, black, ivory, olive, purple, pink, indigo and red for lush fabrics like lami, velvet, satin, chiffon, liquid metallic and silk jersey.

Adding on crystals and embroidery that fitted into the theme which ranged from Collage, Stained Glass Prints Amalgam, Deco Noir, Luxor, Diadem, Marguise and Chrysler, Gayatri dug deep into jewellery, clothes, architecture of that era for her inspirations.

Presenting a formal line of women's wear Gayatri opened the show with a white/gold butterfly sleeve mini then added some pink/blue printed jersey slim skirts and gowns, and a wine satin will-power bubble.

Her finale creation worn by Yana Gupta was a splendid black/gold embroidered butterfly cape over a gold gown which would be a dream outfit for any woman craving to make a show stopping entry.
