Rally to be held on Mar 29 against remarks on Ambedkar

Ahmedabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Protesting the derogatory remarks recently made by a Congress leader against Dr Ambedkar Memorials in Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, the Scehduled Tribe wing of the ruling BJP has called for a massive 'Bhim Swamaan Rally' in Gandhinagar on March 29.

''The remarks by Congress MLA Pravin Maru have deeply hurt the sentiments of Dalits in Gujarat as a result we are demanding an apology from the Congress,'' said the newly-appointed BJP Dalit Wing President Atmaram Parmar.

Mr Maru had said the BJP government should spend money on providing houses to Dalits than contructing the Dr Ambedkar Memorials, which were ''standing like a ''Bhutia House'' (Ghost House)''.

The MLA's comment created a ruckus in the House.
