Marine police stations to monitor coastal security: Addl DGP
Coimbatore, Mar 27 (UNI)Coimbatore Additional DGP K V S Murthy today announced that 12 new marine police stations would be set up within a year to monitor coastal area crimes.
Talking to newspersons here he said these marine police stations will have all modern equipments.
He said to strengthen the security, 40 more check posts would also be set up soon in the coastal areas. Presently, there were 60 checkposts in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.
Besides special teams have been formed in all coastal districts in the state to prevent crime there, Mr Murthy added.
Talking about allocation in the budget, he said funds would be allocated to all equally, including the modern stations with provision of communication equipments, vehicles, facilties for traffic management, training and housing.
Mr Murthy said efforts had been made to shift the police stations to own buildings from rented ones.
