Haryana to collect Rs 2,000 cr through small savings

Chandigarh, Mar 27 (UNI) The Haryana Government has fixed a target of Rs 2,000 crore in small savings collection for the year 2007-08.

A spokesman of the Haryana Small Savings Department today said that a target of Rs 595 crore has been fixed for Ambala Division.

While giving the district wise details, he said a target of Rs 290 crore has been fixed for district Ambala, Rs 130 crore for district Panchkula, Rs 80 crore for Yamunanagar, Rs 25 crore for Kaithal and Rs 70 crore for Kurukshetra.

He said the net achievement of Ambala Division was Rs 314.81 crore up to January 2006-07.

Similarly, a the target of Rs 530 crore had been fixed for Rohtak division. Out of which, Rs 100 crore had been fixed for district Karnal, Rs 60 crore for Panipat, Rs 80 crore for Sonepat, Rs 170 crore for Rohtak and Rs 120 crore for Jhajjar, he added.

He further stated that a target of Rs 210 crore had been fixed for Hisar division. Out of which, Rs 70 crore had been fixed for districts Bhiwani, Rs 50 crore for Hisar, Rs 40 crore for Jind, Rs 25 crore for Fatehbad and Rs 25 crore for Sirsa.

He said that the target of Rs 665 crore had been set for the Gurgaon division. Out of which, Rs 210 crore had been fixed for district Gurgaon, Rs 330 crore for Faridabad, Rs 65 crore for Rewari, Rs 40 crore for Narnaul and Rs 20 crore for Nuh.

While urging the people to invest in small savings schemes and win prizes, he said that the investment made by the people in small savings schemes was being availed by the state government as long term loan for undertaking development works.
