Bangalore Photography Festival from April 15-22

Bangalore, Mar 27 (UNI) Art aficionados in the city are in for a rare treat when the first-ever eight-day Bangalore Photography Festival, organised by Crossover, begins at the Leela Galleria here on April 15.

Crossover Director M Darshan said, in a release here today, that ''the festival will be a platform for both professional and amateur photographers to showcase their talent. The event will be an annual one and hopes to attract huge participation from a cross section of the people.'' Entries have been called for from the following categories: Sports, Culture, Fashion, Social Issues, Nature, People and Bangalore. The display of photographs would be according to the various categories--Sports, Culture and Fashion (Apr 15 and 16), Social Issues, Nature and People (Apr 17 and 18), Bangalore Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (Apr 19 and 20).

Crossover Director Neeraj Verma said ''we expect a lot of digital experimentation to take place in the category 'Bangalore yesterday, today and tomorrow'. This should be a visual treat to one and all.'' Mr Darshan said collectors of antique cameras, who wish to display their collections, were welcome to do so as adequate space would be provided.
