AP: BJP urges Gov to solve Tribal land disputes
Hyderabad , Mar 23: A BJP delegation led by Andhra Pradesh unit party President Bandaru Dattatreya submitted a memorandum to Governor Rameshwar Thakur urging him to solve the land disputes of tribals living in agency areas.
According to a statement here yesterday, Mr Dattatreya said the tribal lands were being encroached upon in agency areas and the real beneficiaries were facing problems of losing thier livelihood.
Pointing out that the state government was not implementing recommendations of Girglani commisison for the last two years, he said the government should also implement the recommendations of Koneru Ranga Rao committee on land reforms in the state.
The BJP leader said the Adivasi Welfare Parishad members launched a relay hunger strike demanding that the government solve the tribal land disputes.
