Syndicate of reactionary forces out to create unrest: Biman

Kolkata, Mar 22 (UNI) CPI(M) state secretary Biman Basu today alleged that a conspiracy by a syndicate of reactionary forces was trying to stall development and create unrest in West Bengal.

'' We have to find out who are behind this conspiracy. Such a situation cannot be allowed. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee already told the Assembly that no land would be acquired at Nandigram without the people's consent. Still peace is not coming back to the area, '' he told mediapersons here.

He also said those, involved in this conspiracy, were helping the reactionary forces from behind and had laid a trap to create unrest in the state.

He said the reactionary forces were also trying to damage democracy and democratic right of the people.

''We are appealing to the people to protest against those forces, carrying out a disinformation campaign and trying to create bickerings among the poor in the state. We want peace and reestablish law and order in Nandigram and have urged people to refrain from any rumour about the land acquisition, '' Mr Basu said.

He also alleged that last night the CPI(M) party office at Patkabari of bordering Murshidabad and Nadia district was attacked and the incident happened after Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury's meeting there.

Referring to the CBI inquiry, Mr Basu said the party will take decision after the High Court verdict.
