Rehabilitation policy to be attractive : Finance Minister

Ranchi, Mar 22 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today said its proposed rehabilitation policy will be ''very attractive'' and the people whose land would be requisitioned for setting up industries would not have to regret.

State Finance Minister Stephen Marandi in his reply to debate on the budget asserted that the UPA government was committed to taking full care of the displaced people in the state.

As the debate was on, Mr Manoj Yadav (Congress) said the UPA government's rehabilitation policy would be attractive enough and suggested that the land owners be made share holders of the industries.

Mr Marandi's statement on the policy assumed significance as the much-awaited rehabiltation policy of the Jharkhand government was almost on the verge of completion that sought to make mandatory prior approval of the 'gram sabha' concerned by the company before the land requisition process.
