Pro-SP traders to use chariots to campaign for party candidates
Lucknow, Mar 22 (UNI) Traders supporting the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh would use 'raths' (chariots) to campaign for party candidates in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Rajya Sabha MP and Rashtriya Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha president Banwari Lal Kanchal said here the organisation would launch 28 chariots in various districts to campaign for SP candidates. The chariots would have audio-visual aides to enable the Vyapar Sabha campaign within the traders' community and outside.
''We have published various literature highlighting the achievements made by the party during its three and a half year in power...it includes a Mulayam Geeta, a mini Mulayam Geeta,'' he informed.
The Vyapar Sabha has also formed 28 teams to run the campaign, which would begin on March 25 and continue till May 4.
Kanchal claimed the sops implemented by the state government for traders and farmers would form the high point of the campaign.
He said the traders associated with the Sabha have also been asked to ensure that candidates from opposition parties do not violate the model code of conduct during electioneering.
