Kanchi Aacharya to appear before court on Apr 4

Kanchipuram, Mar 22 (UNI) A local court today order Kanchi Acharya Jayendra Saraswathy to appear before the court on April 4 in connection with alleged accounts tampering in the Sankara Raman murder case.

First class Judicial Magistrate Uthamaraj issued the summons on the 61-page chargesheet filed by police in the case.

The Magistrate also issued summons to Mutt Manager Sundaresha Aiyer and Mutt Accountant Kaladi Viswanathan to appear before the court on the same day.

The Mutt had allegedly paid a sum of Rs 55 lakh to the mercenary gang which murdered Sankara Raman.

The police alleged that on the orders of Jayendra Saraswati, the Mutt Manager and Accountant had tampered with the account books and charged them with destroying evidence pertaining to the payment of the amount.

The Aacharya was the main accused in the Sankara Raman murder case which is now being tried at a court in Puducherry.
