J'khand Assy gives nod to Kolhan Univ

Ranchi, Mar 22, (UNI) Jharkhand Assembly today passed the Jharkhand State University Amendment bill, 2007, to set up the Kolhan University in Chaibasa district at a cost of Rs 35.13 crore.

Justifying the establishment of separate university in Kolhan area in the state, Human Resources Development Minister Bandhu Tirkey said the Kolhan area, comprising West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Saraikela Kharsawan districts, lacked the facilities of higher education and the University would be established to meet the demands of the area.

UNI
