TN: Four killed, 13 injured in gas cylinder blast

Chennai, Mar 22: Four people were killed and 13 others injured in a gas cylinder blast at Royakottai near Hosur in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said the explosion took place around 0645 hrs in one of the Low Income Group(LIG) apartments of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board.

A few surrounding houses in the LIG block collapsed under the impact of the explosion that took place with a defeaning noise, waking up the people from their slumber.

Of the injured some had sustained burn wounds, while a few others suffered fractures following building and wall collapses.

Eleven of the injured were admitted to a local hospital and the other two, who were seriously injured, were referred to a hospital in Bangalore.
