Floor rates for land acquisition raised in Haryana

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced enhancement in the floor rates of compensation for the acquisition of land in the state with immediate effect.

Making the announcement in the state assembly, Mr Hooda said for the urbanisable area of Gurgaon, the rate had been revised from Rs 15 lakh per acre to Rs 20 lakh per acre.

For the rest of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Panchkula the rate had been enhanced from Rs 12.5 lakh per acre to Rs 16 lakh per acre.

The rate for the rest of the state had been increased from Rs five lakh per acre to Rs eight lakh per acre, Mr Hooda said.

The present government had fixed the floor rates of acquisition of land of farmers so as to ensure remunerative prices for their land.
