Festival deity of Rama taken on Hanumantha vahanam

Tirupati, Mar 22 (UNI) Hundreds of devotees witnessed the festival deity of Lord Rama being taken on 'Hanumantha Vahanam' (Anjaneya) on the sixth day of the nine-day Brahmotsavam of Lord Kodandarama Temple here today.

The bejewelled deity was taken in procession through the four mada streets of the temple between 0800 hrs to 0900 hrs, with devotees offering prayers with 'harathi' and breaking coconuts.

Temple Deputy Executive Officer Vasudevan, TTD officials and others also participated in the procession.

In the evening, 'unjal seva' would be held between 1830 hrs to 1930 hrs, followed by 'gaja vahanam' (elephant vehicle) between 2030 hrs to 2130 hrs around the temple.
