Delhi University's Tagore professor new VC of Assam varsity

Silchar, Mar 22 (UNI) Prof Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, Tagore Professor of Delhi University, is the new Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar.

Assam University sources today said Prof Bhattacharjee would take over his new responsibilities as fourth Vice-Chancellor of the 12-year-old university, next week.

The top post was lying vacant since last year as former Vice-Chancellor Subhash Chandra Saha left the institution before completion of his term of office and joined as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University (Central) in Itanagar of Arunachal Pradhesh.
