City ex-corporator arrested in connection with 'matka' betting

Kolhapur, Mar 22 (UNI) A former city corporator Bashir Patekar was today arrested in connection with running a 'matka' gambling den here.

Earlier in the day, police arrested Vasant Pol, an agent for booking 'matka' at city's Laxmipuri area, while he was engaged in gambling and seized the betting amount, police said.

In police interrogation, Pol revealed that Patekar was the main boss and he was working for him.

City deputy superintedent of police Shahaji Umap led the police team to arrest Bashir, police added.

UNI
