Nandigram: Rajya Sabha adjourned following pandemonium
New Delhi, Mar 21: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 1200 hrs today following pandemonium as the Opposition persisted with its demand for a discussion on the Nandigram killings.
As soon as the House assembled for the day the NDA leaders, especially BJP and Trinamool Congress, started raising slogans against West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.
They were demanding immediate discussion on the killings of farmers in Nandigram be held as the BJP had already given a notice on the issue, but when Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat did not relent they raised slogans.
However, an unfazed chairman threatened them not to come to the well of the House. He said that if they (opposition members) come to the well, they would regret it later.
