Shillong, Mar 21 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang today said the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government did not require a Common Minimum Programme as it was a coalition of ''differing ideologies''.

''There is no need of having a Common Minimum Programme as there are different ideologies among the coalition partners,'' Mr Lapang informed the Assembly during the Question Hour.

The Congress, leading the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance, is being supported by the United Democratic Party, Meghalaya Democratic Party, Hill State People's Democratic Party and Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement.

To a query of Manas Chaudhuri(IND), the chief minister said the major achievements of the MDA government during the past four years were reflected in the governor's address delivered in the House in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, the finance minister's budget speech in the relevant years with plan supplements and annual plan documents for the relevant years.

Mr Lapang also said the other vital achievements of the MDA included pulling down of two proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council and A'chik National Volunteer's Council outfits, providing road connectivity, convincing the central government to start the Meghalaya National Rural Guarantee Scheme in two districts and placing the state's horticulture products in the national map.
