Bharti Airtel signs MoU with Bahrain's Gateway Gulf

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) Telecom major Bharti Airtel today signed an agreement with Gateway Gulf, a data transmission solutions company based in Bahrain, to enhance international connectivity.

The MoU will enable both the companies to utilise each other's services by establishing a Tier IV Carrier-Neutral Data Centre, VSAT Farm, Grid Computing and Collocation services at Bahrain.

''Through this agreement, Bharti Airtel will have an advantage of establishing its presence and serve its carrier partners in the upcoming markets in West Asia and Africa,'' Mr Rajan Swaroop, Executive Director, Airtel Enterprises Services (Carrier), said.

The company would be targeting international operators, carriers, enterprises and other telecommunication companies, thus extending its global reach and coverage, he added.

The MoU was signed between Mr Swaroop and Mr Tariq Husain, Chairman, Gateway Gulf, an international telecommunications data centre and internet exchange.

Bharti Airtel enterprise services provide end-to-end telecom solutions to corporate customers and national and international long distance services to carriers.

Currently, Bharti Airtel has interconnects with over 230 carriers around the world and direct routes with more than 60 countries.
