Rs 70 lakh technology business incubator at NTSC

New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Small Scale Industries Minister Mahabir Prasad today inaugurated an incubator at NTSC, Okhla, aimed at providing facilities to prospective entrepreneurs to learn product manufacturing processes, and technology and business development under one roof.

The incubator for small enterprise establishment has been set up in a 3,000 sq ft area at a cost of Rs 70 lakh, of which Rs 50 lakh is government grant.

Among the 25 projects-- 15 in the first phase-- at the incubator include wax candle making, C-brick making, automatic sock knitting, ice cream cone making, tobacco pouch packaging, tomato ketchup, noodle making, popcorn making, soap making, paper napkin making and potato chips manufacturing.

Mr Prasad said the incubator will provide exposure to the first generation entrepreneurs to appropriate technologies in the country through on-the-job training on the projects.

The prospective entrepreneur will be put through three phase- training.

In the first phase, he will have a month of training on machines and business plan preparation.

In the second phase, he will undergo a month of post training support which will include assistance in procurement of equipment and machinery, and installation and commissioning of the project.

In the third phase, two fortnightly interaction meetings will be carried out to monitor the status of the implementation of the project, including feedback on the training inputs and contents.
