Rakhi Sawant's no to canvass in UP poll

Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Bollywood starlet Rakhi Sawant today said several political parties had approached her to join electioneering in Uttar Pradesh, but she turned down the offer.

''I have decided not to join any party at this juncture,'' she said.

Talking to mediapersons here, Rakhi, who shot to limelight after her ''kissing controversy'' with Punjabi singer Mika and her statements in reality show 'Big Boss', confided she ''is afraid of politicians''.

''When these parties contacted me, I just said I am a normal person, although a celebrity, but have no interest in politics,'' she claimed.

Asked if she had any plans to join politics in near future, the item girl joked if she floated a political party, youths would certainly support her in a big way.

''If ever I want to join politics, I would not join any party, but float my own outfit,'' she said.
