Rahul exhibits ''lack of proper education''on Babri:Dr Swamy

New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Janata Party President and former Union Minister Subramanian Swamy today said the remarks of Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi that the Babri Masjid demolition would not have occurred if the Gandhi family had been active in politics in 1992 displayed his ''lack of proper education'' on the issue.

In a statement, Dr Swamy said Mr Gandhi, who made this statement at Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh yesterday, was perhaps not aware that the locks of the Babri Masjid were ordered to be opened by Faizabad Sessions Judge K M Pandey in 1986 with the ''complicity and concurrence'' of the Congress government in Uttar Pradesh and late Rajiv Gandhi, who was the Prime Minister at that time.

The subsequent laying of a foundation stone in 1989 for the Ram temple was witnessed formally by the then Home Minister in his father's government.

The Janata Party President claimed if there were a ''genuine Gandhi'' or had Sardar Patel been in charge of the country in 1947, ''India would not have left Kashmir issue unresolved or yielded to China, the UN Security Council permanent seat in 1950 or sold out Aksai Chin or inflicted the national economy with Soviet economic planning model.'' ''The nation has paid a heavy price for the Gandhis and the country would disintegrate if the present establishment continues to be in charge for much longer,'' Dr Swamy said.
