Miscreants kill man, injure wife late last night

Barasat, Mar 20 (UNI) A gang of miscreants shot dead a man at his residence in Netajinagar Palpara in North 24 Parganas late last night.

The 38-year-old man's wife was also injured when the miscreants entered their house with the intention to commit dacoity, police said.

According to the police, 12 armed miscreants entered the house and shot at the owner, while his son and wife tried to raise an alarm.

The miscreants hurled bombs injuring his wife, who was later admitted to the District Hospital here. The neighours soon responded. However, the miscreants managed to escape.

Police immediately rushed to the spot and chased the miscreants, managing to nab only two them, police said.
