Industrialists to implement their own policy in Punjab: Badal

Chandigarh, Mar 20 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today came out with an innovative, ''Make and Implement Your Own Policy'', for the state industry.

Presiding over a Punjab State Annual Session: 2006-07 and session on Vision Punjab: The Next five years, organised by CII, the Chief Minister said that under the new scheme, the industry could formulate its own policies. The government would provide a platform through Industrial and Trade Development Boards, one each for large and medium scale industry and small scale industry and trade for the formulation of the policy and revival of the industrial economy.

He announced that these Boards would comprise of industrialists and traders and their chairmen too would be from amongst the representatives from the trade and industry. He announced the board chairmen would be given the rank of a Cabinet Minister.

He also asked the industry to set up Research and Development wings, help in providing employment to local youths and set up Adarsh Schools for providing quality education to the poor but intelligent students.

He sought the whole-hearted support and cooperation from the entrepreneurs and industrialists to transform Punjab into the front runner state on the industrial map of the country.

Mr Badal informed that the state government had allotted three ITIs to the Oswal Group in the Malwa region to impart training to the students in textile engineering and to enable them to get gainful employment in the textile industry.
