Hotel owners advised to be watchful on guest in their premises
New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) As part of its efforts to check unlawful activities operating from the premises of many hotels, the Delhi Police today advised owners of hotels and guest houses to keep a watchful eye on every person hiring rooms in their premises.
In a statement released here, the chief spokesperson of the Delhi Police, Dependra Pathak, said,''it has been found that the anti-social elements are able to check in the hotel rooms without proper enquiry or verifications as well as their purpose of stay.
The room hiring patterns also have been noticed to be odd, i.e, either for a very short duration or for a noticeable longh ones.'' In this context, he advised owners of hotels or guest houses to remain extra careful by thoroughly enquiring or verifying the guests as also ascertaining their purpose for hiring rooms before giving them access to the premises.
''They are also advised to remain watchful and alert and inform police in case of any suspicious activities or persons,''he said.
The Delhi Police advisory comes in view of the Police taking action on anti-social elements found indulging in unlawful activities like cricket betting and prostitution in rooms of hotels and guest houses.
