Head mistress of ZP school booked u/s 306 of ipc

Akola, Mar 20 (UNI) The head mistress of a Zilla Parishad Primary school Anuradha Pawar has been booked under section 306 of IPC for abetting Sangita Gangaram Vijaykar (25) to commit suicide.

The deceased Sangeeta of Mana village in the dstrict had set herself on fire on March 17, following a threat by the head mistress that she would lodge a complaint to police against Sangeeta's son Akash, who is a student of third standard of the same school, allegedly for stealing Rs 400 from her purse, police said.

The deceased succumbed to her burn injuries on Sunday. However, before death she had given a declaration that she committed suicide to avoid possible action by the police.

The husband of the deceased has lodged a complaint with the police and the relatives demanded stern action against the accused.

An offence was registered against the Head Mistress on Monday and police said the accused is yet to be arrested.
