Deputy Chief Minister accused of patronising porno business
Ranchi, Mar 20 (UNI) The Jharkhand Assembly was thrown into turmoil today when Ms Sushila Hansda of JMM, a member on the Treasury benches, charged Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi with patronising porno business.
She alleged that Mr Marandi was in touch with a woman who sent pictures of naked children to foreign countries.
Pandemonium broke out in the House soon after Ms Hansda levelled the allegation.
The Deputy Chief Minister strongly denied the allegation as 'baseless', saying he was ready for any inquiry.
Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda said the matter was serious as it had been raised by a member of the UPA.
When noisy scenes continued to prevail, Speaker Alamgir Alam said Ms Hansda's allegation was in no way linked with her original question raised in the House.
He said there should not be personal attacks and counter-attacks in the House and termed Ms Hansda's allegation as a ''sad'' incident.
He appealed to the members to refrain from levelling such allegations, especially since the issue sounded irrelevant in the context of the original question.
