CSWO demands removal of MSWC Chairperson
Shillong, Mar 20 (UNI) Influential Civil Society Women's Organisation (CSWO) today demanded immediate removal of Meghalaya State Women Commission's Chairperson Biloris Lyndem for manipulating the alleged murder of a female domestic help in the residence of Director General of Police William Richmond Marbaniang.
CSWO's demanding the removal of Ms Lyndem came a day after the Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government ordered a CBI inquiry and removed state's DGP William Richmond Marbaniang following the alleged murder of 26-year-old Rinnehskhem Kharsohnoh in his residence on March 7.
In its memorandum to Chief Minister D.D.Lapang, the CSWO said ''It is unfortunate that CSWO had to intervene since Mrs Lyndem intentionally tried to change things in the statement of Mrs Kharsohnoh, the mother of the victim, by putting in her own words and not actually recording the relevant facts directly to the incident.'' The CSWO also informed the Chief Minister that Ms Lyndem has failed miserably to do justice to the position she holds, citing Ms Lyndem's wanting the ''rapist to marry his victim''.
