BJP announces candidature for by-elections in Jalgaon and Erandol

Jalgaon, Mar 20 (UNI) BJP today announced that Haribhau Jawale will contest from Jalgaon and Dr B S Patil from Erandol constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha by-elections from Maharashtra.

The Lok Sabha by-elections are scheduled for April 9.

BJP leader Eknath Khadse made the announcement here.

The seats fell vacant after BJP leaders Mr Y G Mahajan and Mr M K Annapatil from Jalgaon and Erandol respectively quit following the expose in the Money for Query scam in Parliament some time back.

NCP has fielded Mr Vasantrao More from Jalgaon constituency.

Both Jawale and Patil will file their nomination papers tomorrow.

The last date for filing of nominations is March 23 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 26.
