Vote-on-Account on Mar 21, Delhi's main budget from Apr 11

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) In view of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections on April 5, the Delhi government will place Vote-on-Account on March 21 while the main budget will be presented in the Budget Session of the State Assembly from April 11 to 23.

Lt Governor's address and Vote-on-Account for the next four months (April to July 2007) would be placed on March 21, after which there would be a 20-day recess due to the municipal elections and the main budget would be presented, discussed and put to vote from April 11 to 23, Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh today said.

Discussion and Motion-of-Thanks to the Lt Governor's address would also be moved after the budget session recommences on April 11.

Before going into the recess, the house would also make obituary reference to victims of the Samjhauta Express blasts on February 19, police personnel who died in the recent naxal attack in Chhattisgarh, and former Delhi Metropolitan Council member Ram Lal, besides paying homage to freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
