Alwar: Three of family killed in road mishap

Alwar, March 19: Three of a family were killed and five others injured when a jeep fell into a gorge in Alwar district early morning today.

The family was on its way to Hardwar from Dausa for immersing ashes of one of their kins in river Ganga.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Arya said eight people of one family were travelling in the jeep which lost control and fell into a five feet deep gorge close to Palriya village near Tijara, around 0300 hrs.

The deceased were identified as Nathuram (65), Gordhan (60) and Usha Devi (40) all of died on the spot. Gordhan's wife had died three days back, and they were taking her ashes to Hardwar.

The police has conducted the post mortem and handed over the bodies to their family.
