Police, naxals exchange fire in AP: 15 naxals escape

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 19 (UNI) Special police and naxals of CPI ML (New Democracy) exchanged fire near Kiryatanda at Dabbirpet mandal in this district today.

Police said the naxals came across a combing party in forests abutting Kiryatanda and Dabbirpet and opened five.

In retailation, police opened fire on the extremists. Fifteen naxals managed to escape from the scene.

Police recovered one .303 rifle, a markfed rifle and four kitbags from the spot. Police are combing the forests to nab the escaped naxals.
