Akola, Mar 19 (UNI) Samagra Vikas and Aaghadi president and convenor Prakash Pohre has advocated the need to adopt natural farming as it would increase productivity.
Mr Pohre was delivering the key-note address yesterday at the three-day seminar on natural farming at Amravati divisional meeting.
He said natural farming was beneficial as cotton produced through this method was able to fetch farmers between Rs 3,300 and Rs 3,500 per quintal as against BT cotton, which earned them Rs 1,700 quintal only.
Mr Pohre said the cost of production would reduce if natural farming was adopted. He said ''Natural farming is the need of the hour.'' The seminar was attended by a large number of farmers, many of whom, were felicitated for their contribution to agriculture.
