Hindu Munnani to hold demo on Ramar Bridge Mar 27

Kancheepuram, Mar 19 (UNI) The Hindu Munnani will hold demonstration on March 27 in Chennai against the demolition of the Ramar Bridge during dredging work on the Sethusamudram Shippping Canal Project (SSCP).

The National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA)had certified the Ramar Bridge to be ancient and the Hindu Munnani, which was not opposed to the project, wanted the authorities to change the route of the SSCP to ensure the bridge was saved, a resolution passed at its Zonal General Council meeting here today said.

It also said the demolition would affect the sentiments of crores of Hindus.
