Commission gives clean chit to govt on Gurgaon violence
Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) The G C Garg Commission today gave a clean chit to the administration and the Haryana government with regard to the 2005 Gurgaon clash between police and industrial workers in which several people were injured.
The report, tabled in the State Assembly today, held the workers responsible for the clash that had occurred between the agitating Honda workers and the police on July 25, 2005. Hundreds of workers were injured in police lathicharge and some police personnel were also wounded in the attack by the mob.
''It was the irresponsible and unlawful behaviour and attitude of workers which was responsible for violence and clash between them and the police,'' the report said.
The Commission, however suggested that police, especially in towns like Gurgaon and Faridabad should update and keep in readyness its system for such situations.
