Heidelberg to set up 2MT greenfield plant in Gujarat

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Germany's Heidelberg Cement today said it will set up a greenfield project in Gujarat with a capacity of two million tonnes per annum.

''The company wants to achieve the stated objective of 10-15 million tonnes capacity in India over the next 3-4 years through acquisitions, both brownfield as well as greenfield projects,'' Chairman and CEO Dr B Scheifele said.

The new project will help in strengthening the company's presence on the west coast of India, he added.

Heidelberg has already reached a capacity of 3.5 million tonnes through its acquisition of Mysore Cement and its joint venture with Indo Rama Cement.
