Governor, CM greet people on the eve of Gudi Padwa

Panaji, Mar 18 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today extended their warm greetings on the eve of Gudi Padwa, that marks the heralding of the new Hindu Calendar Year.

''On this auspicious ocasion, I extend my hertiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa,'' the governor said in a message.

The Chief Minister, in a separate message, said may the auspicious occasion usher in ''peace, joy and prosperity to all sections of the society.'' The government, he said, had been making determined efforts to better the living conditions of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

However, greater onus lies on them to support the government endeavours directed towards the interest of the State and its people, he said.

''Let us eschew our differences and work in unison with renewed zeal and vigour to promote socio-economic development and take Goa ahead on the path of progress and prosperity,'' Mr Rane added.
