Garments worth lakhs of rupees destroyed in builiding fire

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Garments worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a fire in the basement of a high-rise building at Nehru Place in South Delhi this afternoon.

The fire was put out after an hour, said fire brigade spokesman.

The cause of fire was due to short circuit in electric connection.

Nine fire tenders had been pressed into service to put off the fire.

The fire broke out at 1425 hrs.
