Five held for betting on India - Bangladesh match

Porbandar, Mar 18 (UNI) Five persons have been arrested by the police here allegedly for taking bets for the World Cup one-day international cricket match between Bangladesh and India at West Indies.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Police Inspector Y J Rana raided a Pan Shop at Khakh Chowk area of the city and arrested the five last night.

Police also seized cash amounting to Rs 26,000, five cell phones and a TV set from them.

The accused were identified as Mahesh alias Bhaylo, Nanalal Ganatra, Atul Joshi, Meraman Odedara and Salim Jabar.
