Court sends ten people to CBI custody, Dasmunsi visits Nandigram
Tamluk, West Bengal, Mar 18 (UNI) A local court today remanded ten people, who were arrested yesterday from a back kiln near Nandigram with 20 fire arms and a huge cache of ammunition including 6 helmets, to CBI custody for four days.
A CBI team probing the Nandigram violence arrested them and seized many incriminating documents.
Meanwhile, Union Broadcasting minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and his Congress MP-wife Deepa Dasmunsi today visited Tamluk Hospital to inquired about the health of people injured in of the Nandigram massacre.
Some 55 people were admitted to the hospital with multiple injuries in the March 14 police lathi charge and firing in which about fourteen people were killed.
Two women, who were allegedly raped by police in Nandigram, were allowed to talk to Deepa Dasmunsi.
Chief Medical Officer Health, East Midnapur Arijit Chakraborty said the two women were medically examined and the doctors confirmed injuries on their persons.
Meanwhile, Nandigram continued to be tensed even today with thousands of supporters of Bhumi Uchched Protirodh Committee continuing to parade the streets keeping the police camp completely guarded and isolated.
