Bangladesh's political situation hampers border trade:Aichhing
Aizawl, Mar 18 (UNI) Mizoram Assembly has expressed concern over the political situation in Bangladesh, which has hampered border trade with that country.
Replying to a question of MPC legislator Lalhmingthanga regarding the border trade with Bangladesh in the Assembly yesterday, state's Trade and Commerce minister Aichhinga said the political turmoil in Bangladesh has marred the state's interest in having trade relations with the neighbouring country.
'' We want to commence the border trade as soon as possible but the internal squabbles in Bangladesh have created a problem for us here,'' Mr Aichhinga said.
However, Mr Lalhmingthanga, mentioning the government's intention to divert the funds, allocated for construction of an administrative building, towards border trade, demanded that the funds should be utilised in construction only.
