Ruling SP releases list of 9 candidates for assembly poll
Lucknow, Mar 17 (UNI) The ruling Samajwadi Party today released the names of nine candidates for the assembly election, including a disqualified member of the present Assembly Kazim Ali Khan.
Party general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav released the names of the candidates. The party nominee from Kannauj assembly seat was also replaced.
Kazim Ali Khan, son of senior Congress leader Noor Bano, was elected on Congress ticket in the 2002 Assembly poll, but later joined BSP. Later, he along with several other BSP MLAs as part of a splinter group, joined SP.
However, the Supreme Court had disqualified his membership along with 12 others on February 14, 2007.
This was the fourth list of the party. Now, altogether more than 175 candidates have been announced by the SP so far.
Following are names of the SP candidates announced today: state urban development minister Mohd Azam Khan (Rampur), Bina Bharadwaj (Bilaspur), Kazim Ali Khan (Swar Tanda), Radhe Shyam Rahi (Sahabad), Subhash Gautam (Barauli), Parvez Alam Khan (Dibai), Hitesh Kumari (Anupshahr), Dilshad Munna (Meerut) and Anil Dohre in place of Bihari Lal Dohre (Kannauj).
