RBI to conduct survey on inflationary expectation
Mumbai, Mar 16 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today said it will conduct a survery on inflationary expectations soon.
RBI Governor Dr Y V Reddy said here today that the central bank had also planned to conduct a full-fledged survey of inflationary expectation to help gauge the sentiments of the common man who is hit the most by the price hikes as a result of inflation, on the lines of Deustsche Bundesbank (DB), which conducts economic survey on a global basis by its own on a quarterly basis.
Reddy said there were not many professional forecasters and hence he hinted that the RBI would also make use of data available from the financial markets for the purpose.
