One dead, four injured in road accident

Kolhapur, Mar 17 (UNI) One person was killed and four others seriously injured today after a truck and a car collided near Kotolee Phata on Kolhapur-Ratnagiri Highway, 10 km from here.

The truck was on its way to Bambavade from Sankeshwar while the car was approaching from Ratnagiri towards Kolhapur, when the accident occurred, police sources said.

The deceased has been identified as Mandar Chandrakant Barale (22), a resident of R K Nagar here.

All the injured persons, including three members of a family were rushed to a civil hospital and later shifted to a private hospital, sources added.
