Nandigram, a conspiracy to defame Left govt in WB : Orissa CPM

Bhubaneswar, Mar 17 (UNI) Orissa CPM state secretary Janardan Pati today alleged that Nandigram incident was a well planned conspiracy aimed at pulling down the Left front government in West Bengal.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Pati said the Maoist, Jamiet-e-hind, BJP and the Trinamool Congress have all conspired to dislodge the West Bengal government.

To a question, the CPM leader said Nandigram incident could not be compared with Kalinga Nagar incident in Orissa where 13 tribals were killed in police firing on January second last year.

Nandigram was not a separate republic, Mr Pati said adding that the police had gone there to restore the land to the people who were ousted from the village by Trinamool Congress activists and Maoists.

The CPM state secretary said West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had earlier said that no land would be acquired in Nandigram for SEZ but the Trinamool Congress activists had let loose a reign of terror in the area to defame the Left parties.
