Jabalpur Collectorate awarded ISO 9001-2000 certification

Jabalpur, Mar 17 (UNI) The Jabalpur district Collectorate has secured ISO 9001-2000 certification for discharging its duties and responsibilities effectively.

Collector Sanjay Dube said an ISO team led by Mr Mayank Joshi visited the Collectorate on March 1.

The certification was awarded as the team found peace, law and order, timely disposal of public welfare-related matters, discharge of government duties as per citizen charter and discharge of other duties properly by the collectorate.

He said the team informed that some collectorate offices had been awarded ISO certificates for some particular areas but the Jabalpur Collectorate had received ISO certification in all areas.

Additional Collectors Deepak Singh and R K Niranjan and other senior officers received full cooperation by providing full cooperation to the team.

ISO certification is necessary for obtaining loans from the World Bank and other national and international organisations.

The Collectorate was the first in the country to implement 'Samadhan-Ek Diwas Yojna'. The initiative was praised by the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and directions were issued to implement it in other districts.

The Centre is planning to implement the scheme in the whole country.

Mr Dube said the scheme will be made more people-friendly on the basis of experience.
