HC Advocates' Association condemns sacking of Pakistan CJ
Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates' Association today condemned the sacking of Pakistan Chief Justice Ifthikar Chaudhary.
Association President G Vidya Sagar, in a statement here, said the Association had passed a resolution, condemning the sacking of Chief Justice Ifthikar Chaudhary.
He said the issue was a matter of grave concern for all those who believe in rule of law.
He said the forthcoming SAARC Law Conference in Pakistan scheduled from March 22 would be a farce in the backdrop of such an assault on that country's justice system.
No meaningful law conference can take place when a democratic and peaceful protest by laywers was met with lathi charge, he charged.
He said the Association complements the courage and tenacity of Pakistan lawyers, who spearheaded a protest campaign against the unceremonial suspension of Justice Chaudhary.
Everybody should unequivocally condemn such dictatorial tendencies wherever and whenever they occur in the interest of the humanity at large, he added.
