New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) More than 1500 unauthorised colonies in Delhi will be regularised within three months, Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy said here today.

However, Mr Reddy said, any decision about regularisation of posh colonies like Sainik farms, Anant Ram Dairy and Mahendroo Enclave etc would be taken up after studying the report of the Committee appointed to look into their cases.

''The Committee submitted its report a few weeks back, so we cannot make any announcement regarding them, as the election code of conduct has come into force,'' Mr Reddy told reporters here.

The Union Cabinet had last month approved guidelines for regularisation of about 1,500 unauthorised colonies that have come up in the Capital over the past three decades and house nearly 30 lakh people.

The Cabinet approval had come after the new Master Plan was notified.

The Government had decided not to charge any fees from these colonies that have come up on private land on the ground that the owners had already purchased the land from farmers. These colonies form about 80 per cent of all unauthorised colonies in the city that have now been regularised.
