Congress releases list of candidates for MCD polls

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Congress today released the list of candidates for the MCD polls scheduled to be held on April 5.

The list of 269 names was released by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Rambabu Sharma after a marathon meeting of the Congress selection committee comprising Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and other senior party leaders.

Mr Sharma said as promised about 50 per cent of the seats had been given to the youth and no candidate with any criminal background was included in the list.

Today is the last date for filing of nominations for the polls.
